Italy raises the foreign worker quota to more than 82,700 for 2023

Italy raises the foreign worker quota to more than 82,700 for 2023

The 82,705 work permit slots for startup visa applicants from third countries and foreign unskilled workers have been increased by the Italian government for 2023.

Almost 7,000 more citizens of third countries will be able to apply for work permits this year than in 2022, according to the government. The same stated that Italy aims to address the labour shortages across the nation by raising the work visa quota, according to SchengenVisaInfo.com. The government emphasised that the work permit quota does not apply to foreigners with highly skilled work permits while also explaining that the work permits will be offered to applicants in specified markets.

According to Fragomen, 44,000 of the total seats available under the work permit quota for this year are designated for seasonal employment. Also, 31,205 positions in fields including tourism, telecommunications, and construction are set aside for people of certain ethnicities.

Beginning on March 27, 2022, applicants for work permits under the 2023 quota may submit their applications. The applications will be processed within 30 days of submission, and the paperwork will be automatically forwarded to the Italian diplomatic posts in charge of providing the visas.
